Partners

Robert F. Sanville, CPA
Bob is the managing partner of the firm and oversees all aspects of the firm's operations. He has nearly fifty years of experience in public accounting. Prior to forming Sanville & Company, he was a partner for seventeen years in the Philadelphia accounting firm of Livingston, Montgomery & Sheldon. Bob is a graduate of Drexel University. He has an extensive background in providing audit, tax and management advisory service primarily to the securities and investment company industries.

Bob is an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA); has served as the U.S. District Court appointed trustee in actions brought forth by the Securities and Exchange Commission; has served as an expert witness in securities litigation before the U.S. District Court; and has served the Securities Investors Protection Corporation as an accountant for the appointed legal liquidator. Bob is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is licensed in the State of New York.

Michael T. Baranowsky, CPA
Michael is a partner in Sanville & Company and has almost thirty years of public accounting experience. Michael is a graduate of Drexel University. He has developed an extensive background and reputation for providing audit, tax and management advisory services to the securities and investment company industries. He is an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and a former member of the Financial Management Division of the Securities Industry Association.

Throughout the years Michael has been the lead engagement partner on numerous broker dealer engagements ranging from a small broker dealer to a broker dealer with over $40 million in revenue. Michael is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and is licensed in the State of New York.

John P. Townsend, CPA
John is a partner at Sanville & Company and has nearly thirty years of public accounting experience along with five years of financial management in private industry. He is a graduate of Villanova University and has been an audit manager at an international accounting firm and a shareholder at a local public accounting firm.

John is responsible for numerous audits and tax return preparation of regulated investment companies, securities broker dealers and other entities. He also draws upon his varied background to provide attestation, tax and management advisory services to diverse clientele with specializations in meeting the particular challenges of various service and construction industries.

Additionally, John is the director of quality control for the firm and is responsible for the administration of the firm's quality control system and the compliance with the rules and regulations of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and other regulatory agencies. In this capacity he is also responsible for performance of the firm's annual inspections and selection and coordination of the firm's external peer reviews. John is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and is licensed in the State of New York.

 

Managers

Marci A. Laderman, CPA
Marci has over twenty years of experience in the securities and investment company industries. Prior to joining Sanville & Company in 1994, she was the Manager of Accounting and Administration for a Mutual Fund Management Company, with assets under management of over approximately $350 million, for 12 mutual funds. Marci is currently the Senior Manager on numerous mutual fund complex clients of the firm and in addition, she is also responsible for audit and/or tax for numerous investment partnerships and hedge funds clients.

Since her graduating from the University of Hartford in 1985, Marci's career in both the public and private sectors of accounting has been exclusively in the securities industry. Her extensive background and hands-on experience with investment companies, investment partnerships and broker-dealer accounting issues brings an in-depth knowledge to our client base. Marci is a graduate of the University of Hartford and has held various FINRA licenses. Marci is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

M. Kathryn Overholt
Kathy is a Senior Manager at Sanville & Company and has been with Sanville & Company for nearly fifteen years. Prior to joining the Firm, Kathy worked over fifteen years in the financial services industry, which included financial management, consulting, and forensic accounting and litigation support services. She is the Senior Manager on numerous mutual fund and broker/dealer clients.

Additionally, she serves many of our investment partnership and hedge fund clients and performs AML audits as well. Kathy's expertise in financial management and ability to work closely with clients' management teams enable her to provide our varied clientele with quality audit, tax and consulting services; she is an integral, long-term member of the management team at Sanville & Company. Kathy is a graduate of Bucknell University and received her MBA in Finance from Temple University.

Nicholas J. Matteo, CPA
Nick is a Senior Audit Manager with over twenty years of experience serving clients in the investment management industry including industry experience in back office mutual fund accounting and administration. His areas of expertise include auditing investment companies, banks and employee benefit plans.

Since graduating from West Virginia University Nick has spent all of his career in accounting and auditing in the financial services industry and has been actively involved with training professionals on recent pronouncements within the investment company industry. He has consulted clients on proper accounting treatment of transactions serviced by third parties and presented process improvement strategies throughout his engagements. Nick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
